The youngest member of Jet Life and the son of Original Hot Boy Cash Money artist B.G. Born in New Orleans, La, Tyran, but goes by his stage name T.Y. made his way on the rap scene in 2014. In an interview with The HipHop Lab, he was asked what made him get into the music industry “My mom, moved to the country a couple of miles from New Orleans. When she did that, it was so boring I had to figure something out quickly. So I started messing with beats with my homie downloading it from youtube, and it just went from there.” He also mentions, how he met Curren$y, “I came home one summer to visit. I use to be skating on Canal St. I saw him standing next to his Bentley. So I was like fu%k all that I’m going to talk to him. When we were talking, he said he knew who I was, and on top of that, I knew Mousa, which was his manager because he knew my dad and my momma. When I said that, he was like you're good then you're in the loop.”

It was the year 2017 when I recognized T.Y. He was featured on the Jetlanta project with Curren$y. Since being with the label T.Y. has dropped numerous projects. He’s mostly known for his sequels Son of a Gangsta 1–3. After taking some time off due to personal reasons, T.Y. recently dropped his new project this month, “Don’t Ask Y.” The young artist continues to prosper and hopes to see his dad be released soon. He mentioned, “we don’t have a date yet on his release, but soon.” Down below are more of my favorite projects.

The Good Grind Young” (2018)

Receiving All Profits” (2018)

Son Of A Gangsta 3” (2017)

Don’t Ask Y” (2020)
